Backhoe/Loader Operator

Job Description:

Tvirtas Construction Corporation is seeking a skilled and experienced Backhoe/Loader Operator to join our growing team. In this role, you will play a vital role in our geotechnical engineering and construction projects by operating backhoe and loader equipment for various tasks, including:

• Excavation: Digging trenches, foundations, footings, and other underground structures.

• Material handling: Loading and unloading trucks with soil, gravel, rock, and other materials.

• Site preparation: Clearing land, leveling surfaces, and backfilling excavations.

• Demolition: Breaking up and removing concrete, asphalt, and other materials.

• Landscaping: Grading slopes, creating drainage ditches, and preparing planting areas.

Responsibilities:

• Safely and efficiently operate backhoe and loader equipment, following all safety protocols and procedures.

• Read and interpret blueprints, site plans, and work instructions.

• Conduct pre-operational checks to ensure the equipment is functioning properly.

• Maintain a clean and safe work environment by keeping the equipment area clear of debris.

• Perform basic maintenance tasks on the equipment, such as lubrication and cleaning.

• Communicate effectively with other crew members and supervisors.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Backhoe/Loader Operator (adjust based on your needs)

• Valid commercial driver's license with appropriate endorsements for operating heavy equipment (mandatory)

• Proven ability to operate backhoe and loader equipment safely and efficiently

• Strong understanding of excavation techniques and safety procedures

• Excellent hand-eye coordination and spatial awareness

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Physically fit for the demands of the job, including lifting heavy objects and working in various weather conditions
